About Dave

Born to hardworking parents - his mother a schoolteacher and his father a businessman - Dave Sukoff was educated in the public school system. He spent summers as a child in his step-mother's native country of Colombia. As a high school junior he was a national champion in computer programming and later attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A four-year varsity lacrosse player at MIT, he received his B.S. in finance and economics. After graduation he began work as a portfolio manager, first at a small fund in Boston and then at other hedge funds across the east coast, finally starting his own fund, Precept Asset Management, at the age of 29 in 2002.

As an accomplished portfolio manager, Dave is a leader in the field of finance. And as a business owner Dave understands responsibility and sacrifice. He knows how to make the difficult decisions necessary to grow and succeed.

Dave is first and foremost a husband and a father. He prides himself on prioritizing his family. After finding success in finance, Dave and his wife Laurie decided to leave metro New York. He left the day-to-day operations of the fund in the hands of his partner and with his family returned to Massachusetts to pursue a better quality of life for their children in Laurie's hometown of Bedford. He serves the local community as a member of the town's Finance and Capital Expenditure committees and as a board member of Camp Sunshine, a non-profit which supports children who suffer from life-threatening illnesses.

Meanwhile, Dave is working to better the record of the Bedford High School boys lacrosse team as head coach. You can also find him playing in the backyard with his children, Jacob and Ava, ages 6 and 4.
